Getting Real

My husband helped me with this title. People often tell me I'm transparent, and I would agree that I see value in being open and authentic in community. This blog is going to be a way for me to "be real" about who I am, good and bad, while I process my thoughts and share what I enjoy in life. I hope it will also be a record of my sanctification...me really "getting real," by growing more out of my flesh and towards resting in the Gospel, by His grace and the work of the Spirit.

About Me

Hello! I am a woman who loves relationships...especially deep ones. I love talking for hours over a cup of coffee or some ice cream. I love being outside, reading a good novel, and if I were to be honest...I love getting into a good argument. For more than 5 years now, I have been married to the most tender, humble, faithful man I've known, and we have one very active, friendly, fun toddler. I am thankful to be living my dream of spending my days taking care of our son, helping my husband, caring for our home, visiting with friends, and learning how to rest well. I also work a few days a month as a registered nurse at Children's Hospital...and I love that I am able to do that to keep my foot in the "work outside the home world" while also helping out my family financially just a little bit. We are members of Christ Community Church, PCA, a new church plant in Helena, AL. To say that we are grateful for our church family would be the understatement of the year! We are so blessed to be a part of a community where we are loved and accepted as we are because of the Gospel, yet pushed lovingly toward growth as we share life with our church family. We are so undeserving of all of these gifts, and so very blessed.
